# Audit trail for every document

Every step is a row in an append-only record. Each row's hash covers the row before it.

## What is recorded.

- **Who**: The seat, name and email
- **When**: The time of each action
- **From**: The address and browser
- **Agreed**: The wording agreed to
- **Hash**: A hash that includes the row before it

- **Sends**: Who sent, changed or voided a document
- **Keys**: Who made or revoked an API key
- **Use**: Each key's use, with its name
- **Export**: CSV, for one document or the workspace

## Questions

**Can a record be edited?**

No. The record is append-only. A change anywhere breaks the hash chain.

**Does test mode appear?**

Test documents are marked and left out of reports.
